October 6th – Lugano Scal

The Staircase of the Angels, along with the nearby funicular, now out of use, have a glorious past. The adjacent Church of Santa Maria degli Angioli is one of the most important Renaissance historical monuments, not only in the Canton of Ticino but in the whole of Switzerland, and the scenery is among the most enchanting that the city of Lugano offers.

Today, the entire area is the subject of studies aimed at restoring the proper value to this connection between the lake and the upper part of the city, towards Tassino Park.

It spans approximately 135 meters, a sequence of just under 300 steps that are already part of running routes for many enthusiasts, but today you are invited to test yourself, both individually and with others.
